Has anyone read the book or seen the musical? which did you think was best?
I personally enjoyed the musical more. -------------------- I never tell anyone exactly how clever I am. They would be too scared.

I have read the book and am an avid fan of the musical, though I have not yet seen it staged (I intend to in April). The book is excellent. It's witty, dark, interesting, challenging, and full of lovely twists and turns that make you both love and hate Elphaba, and mostly just believe that she's real. It's very different from the musical, which I also love for different reasons. If you're still interested I'd love to discuss either or both.
