Excuse me, but me and some of my friends we don't understand what is funny with the real name oh Teatime in english : Teh-ah-time-eh... ?

Well, the word 'teatime' means 'time when tea is served', which would be a silly thing to have as a surname, so Mr. Teatime made up a new pronunciation.
'Teh-ah-tim-eh' itself doesn't mean anything, the joke is that he's embarrassed about his name so he says it's something else, when it obviously isn't.

Because in french we have a joke with his name : Lheureduthé - Leredouté (the spelling and the pronunciation are almost the same)
- L'heure du thé - is the tea time
- Le redouté - is a man who make fear

Hmmmm, that's a coincidence.

No i want to say in french : the "Teh-ah-time-eh" is translating as "Leredouté" and "Teatime" as "Lheureduté", the joke are in the french version.

There are not a "Teh-ah-time-eh" or something like that in french. Only Teatime/Lheureduthé who say "My name is Teh-ah-time-eh/Le-re-dou-té"

There are people in the UK who have changed the pronunciation of their names to make them sound posher. Sidebottom suddenly becomes Sidebotham for example.

They even change the spelling on marriage certificates and their children's birth certificates. It's been going on for years and makes it difficult when you are compiling family trees.

A popular TV program character pronounced her surname as Bouquet when it was spelt Bucket.

Others put the husband and wife's surnames together making a double barrelled name.

I think that TP was poking fun at these people.
